REGISTRATION AND COLLECTION DAY

18th July 2009

As in previous years, the age groups will have time slots in order to minimise queues and delays. The age groups are those you will be playing in next season and slots are

TO BE ADVISED.

The registration fee this year is £65. A discount of £10 will be given where other siblings register (hence the first child pays £65 and siblings £55, £45 etc ) . The registration fee for New Joiners & Re-joiners is £80.

REASON FOR INCREASE IN REGISTRATION OF £5

a) Fee had been held at £60 for 2007/8 and 2008/9; increase in all costs requires fee increase.

b) ATP charges increasing by 15% and these account for over half of total annual expenditure. This is about £35 per player over the season and means there are no separate training fees.

c) Joining fee maintained at £15.

d) There is a small increase (£5) to the sponsorship to obtain free registration but it is still very reasonable. For those who have collected £90 or more sponsorship, registration will be free. Similarly, for siblings registration will be free if sponsorship of £160 (2 registered) or £220 (3 registered) is raised.

5-a-side sponsorship money raised should be handed in at the same time as registering. All players must also bring 2 passport size pictures with their completed registration form.

Please also note that team “block registration” will again be possible this year. Managers can collect all completed forms, registration fees and sponsorship monies to be handed in on behalf of their team (or part thereof) on registration day. The registration forms will be available via our website once ready for the new season.

Chairmans report 2008-09 Season

Summer's here again and apart from the few individual football tournaments that remain we give way to Cricket and athletics. We can now reflect on the 2008 /09 season.

Baldock Town Youth Football Club have had yet another very successful season and our membership has remained as one of the highest football clubs in Hertfordshire.

The All weather pitch remains a tremendous asset for training however after this years winter I think it needs to be re-named “The All Weather ( apart from snow ) Pitch.” Having said that I cannot remember too many complaints about not being able to train in the snow.

We have achieved various levels of success from different teams but what I'd rather concentrate on this season is the fact that we have seen fewer bookings, fewer disciplinaries, less bad behaviour reports than previous seasons. This is purely due to your attitudes and in conjunction with our early adherence to the “respect” campaign we can and have made it a pleasure for teams to visit us. This is essential for the survival of football so please keep it up.

Our Eisenberg twinning trip did not happen this year. Mainly due to the fact that the German teams folded. However we are still in contact with them and after shifting the age groups slightly we should be able to continue with a visit to Eisenberg next Easter. Fund raising has already begun for this and the trip is open to all children playing in the Under 12 and 13 age groups for next season. This is not specifically a team event as teams are made up from those that attend so if you are the only one in your team that wants to go, don't be shy, register your interest with the club or specifically with Ina Armitage. The more the merrier on this trip. While on this issue I would like to offer a big thanks to Ina for all her hard work in dealing with the Eisenberg trip. Not an easy task. For next season we are looking at a few changes on the management committee. Our 2 longest standing members - Doug and Roger - who have both worked tirelessly as Secretary and Treasurer for the club for many years ( I'm not sure exactly how many but I know it's at least 10) are both hanging up their boots. Without them the club would not be in the strong position it is now so a huge thanks to them both for all their time and efforts over the years.

Once again I would like to thank all those involved with the club who donate their time and skills to make us what we are today – one of the premier youth clubs in Hertfordshire-. Thanks to all managers, coaches, assistants web coordinator, kit man and in advance of the 5 aside weekend on 13 th and 14 th June I offer thanks to the 5 a'side team who I know have already put in a lot of effort to ensure the weekend event continues and remains one of the most enjoyable tournaments for the kids.

I also want to thank all our active sponsors and the local schools without whom we would struggle to provide kits for the kids and pitches to play on. Knights Templar, Hartsfield, St Mary's and St John's . Thank you.

Also thank you to North Herts Homes who continue to support us by donating the NHH Fair play award.
